Shipping and Delivery Policy
1. Delivery Service and Methods
1.1 Kerbside Delivery
All deliveries are carried out by third-party haulage companies and are strictly a kerbside delivery service only. This means the Goods will be off-loaded from the vehicle to the nearest safe point on your property's kerbside or driveway using a tail-lift and a manual pump truck.
-
The driver is not permitted to move the pallet beyond the kerbside, carry materials into the property, or place them over grass, gravel, or uneven surfaces.
-
It is the Buyer's responsibility to arrange for immediate and appropriate movement of the Goods from the kerbside to the final storage location.
1.2 Vehicle Size
Our standard delivery is made using a large 18-tonne or 26-tonne rigid vehicle. These vehicles require clear access and turning space.
2. Delivery Access and Requirements
2.1 Essential Access Information
The Buyer must inform us at the time of order of any potential access restrictions at the delivery address, including but not limited to:
-
Narrow roads, bridges, or sharp bends.
-
Weight or height restrictions.
-
Low-hanging trees or cables.
-
Restricted parking or waiting times.
2.2 Failed Delivery
If delivery is attempted but fails due to inadequate access, the absence of a responsible person to sign for the goods, or a failure by the Buyer to inform us of restrictions:
-
The Goods will be returned to the nearest depot.
-
The Buyer will be responsible for all charges incurred, including the failed delivery charge and the cost of re-delivery.
3. Delivery Dates and Lead Times
3.1 Estimated Times
Any delivery dates provided are estimated and non-binding. We will make every effort to meet the agreed date, but D&B Stone Ltd is not liable for any losses or expenses arising from delivery delays, including delays to fitters or contractors.
3.2 Lead Times
-
Standard Stock: Typically delivered within 3-5 working days from payment clearance.
-
Bespoke / Custom Orders: Lead times will be confirmed upon order confirmation, as they depend on fabrication complexity and material availability (often 2-4 weeks).
4. Acceptance and Off-Loading
4.1 Attendance
The Buyer or a nominated adult representative must be present at the specified delivery address on the agreed delivery day to accept the Goods and sign the delivery note.
4.2 Off-Loading
The off-loading area must be flat, solid, and safe for a pallet truck to operate. The Buyer accepts all risk for damage that occurs after the Goods have been safely off-loaded at the kerbside.
5. Delivery Charges
Delivery costs are calculated based on the weight, volume, and destination postcode of your order. The applicable delivery charge will be clearly itemised on your quotation and Order Confirmation before payment is taken.
